My God, I wish I discovered this earlier.
Simply tape a piece of letter paper (or legal if you want an absurd amount of surface) to your desk, and you've got an awesome mouse pad. It glides more smoothly that any of my other mouse pads, including that Allsop thing. That black shit also slowly collects on the paper pad rather than the mouse feet, which means you don't have to keep cleaning the mouse to get it gliding again. When the paper gets too disgusting, tear it up and tape down another one, and you're good to go.
So awesome.
