Yes, except it's actually a quote.

People use italics when quoting, too.

There are people with 100+ PPI monitors that make it hard to read text that small. My monitor is a fair bit away from me. Raise your screen DPI setting. You're supposed to if your screen is not the standard ~90 DPI/PPI. Italics are technically not supposed to be used for quotes; quotation marks should be used for inline quotes and an indented blockquote should be used for cited passages. Observe the following example: The practice is controversial. Adding daylight to afternoons benefits retailing, sports, and other activities that exploit sunlight after working hours, but causes problems for farming, entertainment and other occupations tied to the sun. Traffic fatalities are reduced when there is extra afternoon daylight; its effect on health and crime is less clear. Although an early goal of DST was to reduce evening usage of incandescent lighting, formerly a primary use of electricity, modern heating and cooling usage patterns greatly differ and research about how DST currently affects energy use is limited and contradictory (Wikipedia). Quote tags should ideally be used for quoted posts, while blockquotes should be used for external quotations.

Quote tags should ideally be used for quoted posts, while blockquotes should be used for external quotations. This is exactly what I wanted. I like procedure. And fuck off, I'm not going to raise my DPI. My eyes aren't fucked up. I'm just used to seeing normal sized text on my monitor and I don't want to adjust my penis to see Patrick's small text.
