SamurizePretty neat considering how customizeable it is. You were right, Batten. The editor is fucking slick. If someone like me can use it, then you know they've done a damn good job. Simple and clean. Just the way I like it. Looks and runs better than a lot of other amateur apps, too.

Still a work in progress. Looking to add some RSS feeds, possible some media player support, maybe some weather reporting if I see the use of it. Possibly going to experiment with other meters and skins and stuff before deciding to 'finalize'. There's an obvious mistake there I didn't correct before taking the pic. There was this really cool script I remember using for conky that would read output from top over timed intervals and output them in an ordered list with CPU% usage, amount of memory being used, name of process, process ID, that kind of thing. Made it pretty easy to check which processes were taking up the most of the CPUs time without having to use top or some other kind of process monitor. If anyone finds such a script, tell me about it. Any problems with the link, give me a hollah.

Any real reason you use Windows on the Toshiba? (12:45:15 AM) Mohamdu: The only reason to use Windows is because of the few applications that su ck ass with Linux. (12:45:55 AM) Mohamdu: And given such a beast of a laptop like mine, it makes sense to use Windows because it can actually run those kind of apps decently. (12:46:46 AM) Hauskaz: Yeah, application support is pretty much the only thing keeping me from wiping Windows on Macy. (12:50:42 AM) Mohamdu: For me it's like: ATI Catalyst Control Center WhatPulse Chrome Couple games Ready to Program MS Math, MS OneNote Rosetta Stone Hardware detection. I'm not sure if Ubuntu's updates have actually made it better to detect hardware on this piece of shit, but I remember a year or so back when I tried to get wireless to work on this fuckpiece, it didn't work using ArchLinux, Ubuntu, or Fedora (lmfao). (12:51:15 AM) Mohamdu: Whenever J_____ Jackal or whatever comes out I might just install that as a secondary OS. (12:51:45 AM) Hauskaz: I think I remember getting wireless to work with Ubuntu. (12:51:48 AM) Mohamdu: Also this laptop has better specs than my desktop, rofl. (12:51:49 AM) Hauskaz: Not sure though. (12:52:00 AM) Mohamdu: Depends on the laptop you are using. (12:52:12 AM) Mohamdu: When I bought this thing it was like, brand fucking new. (12:52:15 AM) Hauskaz: I'm talking about yours. (12:52:28 AM) Mohamdu: Ah, ok. Then it will probably work. (12:52:52 AM) Mohamdu: I don't like 64-bit Ubuntu too much from what I remember of it either. The most prominent reason is because Tyler installed Vista on this when I lent it to him though. I hadn't used Windows for more than an hour or so until he gave it back to me, I installed a few programs that weren't Linux compatible and used them often enough until I got used to them. There is still a LOT of Linux functionality I miss while using this laptop (bash, ncurses, Amarok, shittons of workspaces, fluxbox, xfce, the filesystem structure, various Linux based applications, etc.) but the benefits of using Windows on a laptop for me outweigh the benefits when I am more often than not using Linux as a desktop at home. OneNote is a good example of this, my notes for class tend to be pretty well organized using it in a way that I couldn't just using OpenOffice writer or something like that. Example: Chemical Equilibrium note Keep in mind that the pdf printer and scribd formating make it look shittier than it is using OneNote.
