Let's make some sort of game using Java since it's the most common language among us here. Some kind of creative 2D game would be ideal. I'll setup a Trac system if this actually gets off the ground.

kk this is what I'm thinking. Everything is kind of awful right now, but if we actually want to go through with this, we can take this concept art and actually make something real out of it through animated gifs. 1. Main Character [/b][/ul] 2. Story You start as a happy triangle, and the evil Dr. McBag is a shapestealer, and steals your shape and locks it up inside a cage. Now as a mass of slime, you go out and seek clues as to where your shape has gone to. 3. Environment [/b] - This will start off basic, and it will take place in a forest outside of a small stone house. The goal is to go deep into the forest, fight off small woodland enemies, collect stuff, and make it to a river that you have to cross. Level Two: River- Introducing water to the game. Bubbles, fish, seaweed and whatever else all fly around the area and you have to avoid them, while the controls may be slightly erratic since you're in a river. The level ends to you falling down a waterfall. Level Three: Cave- The waterfall leads you to fall down to a cave behind it. Where you must trek in the dark, a small network of tunnels, and pits. Level Four: Nofall - The end of the tunnels lead you to a giant exhaust room. There's a fan at the bottom that blows everything up into the outside. You walk towards the fan and you whiz through the air dodging shit. Level Five: Winter- The fan leads you to the top of the mountain. A big wintery area with snow blowing everywhere. The ground is slippery and enemies are larger and much more difficult to attack. [/ul] More to come. 4. Enemies [/b][/ul] 5. Goal - Gameplay Elements: Blob physics, and attacks are similar to that of Sonic. You jump in the air, and as long as you land on top of the enemy, you absorb him up. You collect little purple orbs that give you points as you pass through levels. There can also be power-ups that allow your character to either become larger or smaller. We can also have minigames inside where you have to solve like.. a gravity maze or something where you roll the map around and you fall into pits to get out of a maze. I don't know rofl

I'm not writing any code until the summer either, but it would be nice to have the planning stage nailed down by them.

So no actual planning took place. I think I'll just start casually writing a Sonic-esque engine and later adapt it to whatever this is going to be.

The Runner class is an interesting concept but it actually seems ironic in its attempt to hide complexity as there are now a new class that purely exists to run another class, and the end user won't see the the code anyways.

I admit that's strange, I just hate static variables and this removes the main class from everything else.
