Aero runs alright as long as there aren't too many windows. Windows Media Player and that gadgets window rape it though. 512 MB of RAM is also completely unideal for Vista's memory routines.
On the other hand, Vista flies on the Blackbox with the exception of games. Everything is subjected to a 5-10 fps drop. It's pretty fun.
