Get some low-light pictures. These have been scaled down to 800x600 because most of them look like shit at their full resolution. Here's the Canon GL1 because it owns. Is there not some sort of brightness or contrast software setting you could change?
Just take a picture with lighting as low as you can go while still getting an image, then quadruple the contrast with Photoshop or the GIMP or whatever.

I've yet to find a Dell LCD that can even be properly calibrated with the Lagom test. I've tried calibrating two 19" 5:4 Dell LCDs (complete with retarded VGA connection), and the colour gamut was simply so fucked up I could not correct it.
Goddammit Dell.
