This tab was actually pretty worthless as I had already figured it out by ear beforehand. It simply suggested a few alternate fingerings to what I was running though.

I don't understand how anybody can play music by ear. I try to think that it might be like sticking your cock in your mouth, one of those things you can just do if you have the body to, but the idea of playing music by ear still gives me the heebie jeebies.

I think it differs from cock absorbing, as that is something you can practise and improve upon. To me, musical listening skills are essentially something you're either born with or acquire very early, and can do little to enhance later on.

I used to sit and experiment with MIDI by ear around the age of 5. I was pretty fucked. It's actually much easier for me to simply listen to something and go from there than to look at sheet music or tablature when it comes to musical interpretation. Fingering positions for something like a guitar is different, however.

It's not that hard to learn songs by ear. I do it all the time on keyboard/piano and I'm mediocre at it. The only times I actually reference sheet music are for the chords or if I really want to learn a song but lazy to figure out the notes.

I agree with Tyler. It's much easier for me to learn a piece on keyboard/piano by ear without reference to sheet music, unless I really need it. I used to sit in front of my shitty Casio keyboard everyday trying to learn songs as a child.

Personally, I don't think I'm musically inclined outside of rhythm games, rofl.

I suppose I can understand that there might be something fundamentally different about what we did as children. I have never understood how a person could simply play a song by ear, but find sheet music incredibly easy to follow most of the time (even if I lack the musical proficiency to play it) as opposed to being able to just play something by ear. I would say the same reason I can't play music by ear is the same reason I can't be assed to use GUIs most of the time and find command line input and keyboard shortcuts sublimely easier to understand.

I had absolutely no interest in music until I was about 12 and forced myself to listen to music. I spent almost all of my childhood arranging things.

Ask my mother about it. I would spend tons inside my kitchen cupboard alphabetically arranging our food and things like that. My mother might not have noticed what I was doing, but she had to notice that I used to love arranging things in certain orders. I would arrange things by size, by colour alphabetically, by manufacturer alphabetically, take entire decks of cards and arrange them in order. Another one of my favourite hobbies was building traps, I would take a box of dominoes or two and spend a few hours creating an elaborate trap to be able to knock an action figure off of a table, and then catapult another action figure into a domino box and automatically close it or something similar. The few times I did succeed I remember being the happiest times of my childhood. I don't think people outside of my direct family thought I could hear because I pretty much ignored all sound until I was about 7. The only songs I liked were repetitive noises, the only things I liked to watch were repetitive things. So basically I was a typical kid with autism.
