Not sure if this is better suited to the literature section or not, move it if you feel it needed.
I ended up writing this English essay which was basically a personal thing about my own goals and ideals and what I look forward to in the future. I ended up rambling about a bunch of scientific and philosophical crap. Read it if you like, as I was going to hand it into English class, but then my schedule changed 4th period to Engineering; I feel like shit just letting this go to waste like that.
There is much to be said for the joys of fearless, ruthless experimentation and questioning of the nature of our reality; whether it is drawing a blade across an arm, excreting blood to allow the pituitary gland to release the endorphin opiates that would holler life into my mind; whether it is postulating how many algorithms I can find to factor an integer with the least possible mental calculation (ie. NP in P) time being spent; whether it is landing as quickly and deliberately as possible into the psyche of another person I have never met; whether it is having the courage to know that man is the master of the universe around him ... every possibility I can think of is just one more step towards absolute happiness.
My name is Michael Sharabil Mohamed, I was born on Friday September 20th, 1991 three weeks late in a labour so exhausting my mother almost died. I'm a regular suburbanite in a public schooling system I find inadequate. I know three languages, clearly the one being exercised now; mon française est tres mal, でも私の日本語はとても上手,自分の勉強だから. Linguistics have always been an interest of mine, and have been since I was a young child and would spend my spare time learning various writing systems; I want to know as many languages as possible before I die.
If I had to name a single career I wanted to do when growing up, I could not as I would have to name at least four: mathematician, neurologist, physicist or computer scientist; this is because they encompass all the subjects and curiosities I enjoy most as well as the philosophies I hold dearest. The first of them would be that experimentation, overwhelming oneself with information are not distasteful; they are just a lot of fun and make life worth living. Secondly, that there is nothing more mysterious than man's control and understanding of his world: religion, technology, sciences and cognition are all creations of man's, which is why man is by far the most powerful weapon and tool in the universe at his disposal. Thirdly, that there is no greater school of thought greater than that of logic and reasoning which when indulged in enough bring about the understanding that would realize these goals.
My most common complaint about my life is that it is too easy for me; for years I have longed to be swept out of comfort and into catastrophe with no one left to rely or trust in besides myself. Why? Because life is so much more fun when it is just one big difficulty to solve after another. People tend toward the difficult; such a tendency would unravel the path to what I would call 'the frontier of all things good an ingenious' or as it is more colloquially referred to, 'boredom'. To emancipate themselves from boredom people will seek a difficulty to conquer, and knowingly or not, they will do or create something ingenious. I never want to be bored.
This is why I look forward to my future as a path of hope in an existence far too dull to be vivid, too simple to be reality and too obfuscated to be sensible; namely 'childhood'. The realm of adulthood I hope will offer harder challenges and greater rewards; in a world where I can be and do anything, I am sure I can feel less like I am jumping through hoops and more like a human being on the frontiers of achievement.
