Recommend me a few. Anything will do as long as it's not an iPod.

I'm not sure what to recommend other than Apple. There's a reason Apple dominates the market share.

Microsoft, so when you tell iPod users they are feeding a monopoly; it will be ironic.

I'm not sure what to recommend other than Apple. There's a reason Apple dominates the market share. Also, there are lots of imitation mp3 players out there. The Sandisk Sansa was a good rip, even though it was a worthless piece of shit. Just get an iPod already.

No.
As long is it's functional, I don't really give a shit what brand it is. I'll find something tomorrow at lunch then, rofl.

The last three or so you've had haven't been very functional, rofl.
The problem with imitations is that the interface often absorbs massive cock. The Chinese can't seem to realize that throwing shit all over the screen doesn't make it better.
The Sansa felt pretty cheap in the hand. I've yet to hold an MP3 player in my hand that matches the build quality of an iPod. Maybe that's why this shit breaks.

I've had two MP3 players: iFrod and Nextar. Both of which I silked the audio jack. Both of them also had random freezing issues as well, rofl.
The iFrod's battery life was very poor (only lasted a good 2 hours or so before dying) while the Nextar ran on AAA batteries (which is a bitch to buy considering they're pricey for good quality ones).
The iFrod's interface was also poor and there was some delay to it so cycling through the damn menu was pretty annoying. The Nextar didn't really have much of an interface due to the tiny screen but it was by far superior as compared to the iFrod.
Although the iFrod did have a wide range of applications such as video playback, FM Radio, photo storage and voice recording, they were pretty damn awful. The video quality absorbs and it only runs on a specific file format (I forgot what it was). And a screen that small isn't really meant to play videos in the first place. FM Radio reception was just fucking awful and the photo storage was pretty useless considering that it destroyed the quality of the photo if the resolution was any larger than the resolution of the screen itself. It fails to resize images. Voice recording wasn't half bad but the built-in mic was shitty. The Nextar only had voice recording which I haven't actually tested before but the mic is probably shitty as well considering that I bought it for only $15.
I attempted to solder both of the audio jacks back but there was no success. Once you break them, you can't fix it.
Chances are I won't find anything that'll match up to the quality of an iPod however it'll probably function much better than the iFrod and Nextar. We'll see what I buy tomorrow.

get a vune, and then user applications and patches to increase your vune's performance.

lol RCA Lyra MC4202-A So far, I haven't encountered any problems with this thing. No freezes whatsoever. The interface is actually pretty decent and doesn't absorb massive cock like the iFrod did and the design is rather nice. There's video playback but I'm not even going to bother testing that out. FM Radio isn't bad. Reception isn't exactly clear but it's enough to listen to the radio without much interference. Voice recording I haven't tested out yet and photo storage seems okay judging from the sample photos it came with. Resizing seems decent since the photos dimensions were larger than the screen itself and it's doesn't fail like the iFrod. The battery life states on the box that it can go up to 25 hours like a standard iPod but I'll need to test this sometime. So far it went about 3 hours straight and the battery life is still full which seems promising. The iFrod would've died after the 2 hour mark. The only thing annoying about it is that there's a shitload of preinstalled programs on the Lyra that are absolutely useless and don't even fucking need in the first place unless you upgrade the firmware. So opening up the folder on my computer is pretty annoying when you have a shitload of files all over the place. And to power on the Lyra takes ~10 seconds or so because of that program shit that it also needs to even run.

Does it have no sleep or suspend mode? Booting an iPod takes pretty damn long, but you rarely ever have to actually do it.

There's a lock key at the back of it but it doesn't actually work as a sleep function either like the iPod's Hold key. No sleep feature as far as I'm aware of but it does power off on its own if not in use like most MP3 players.

After school today I walked 3/4 of the way home until my Mom showed up to pick me up. As I got into the car, I didn't notice that the end of my headphone wire got caught by the car door as I closed it.
After driving a little down the street I noticed that my Lyra went missing and that the headphone jack was wet. I immediately raced down the street to retrieve the Lyra only to find it in a pile of slush. The casing that protected the innards of the Lyra was slightly open and scratched but the Lyra still managed to turn on and function properly. Once I got home, the Lyra stopped functioning and is now presumably dead considering that it does not turn on nor will my computer detect its driver once plugged in.
Good thing I have a 3 year warranty for this thing. Going to The Source to get it replaced probably later on today.

Well it seems that it's functioning perfectly fine now after leaving it out to dry and then plugging it back into my Computer a few hours later. Drivers were detected and everything seems operational.
No need to use the warranty since it still works though there are a few scratches on the top of Lyra's casing. Looks like the Lyra will last longer than I expected and hopefully I won't need to use my warranty in the future to replace this damn thing.
