OnLive is a very interesting cloud computing service. It's like VLC meets gaming. Basically, what it does is that you don't run the game at home. The game runs at a server house and video is streamed to your television or computer. It has been under development for the past 7 years, and they worked really hard for it to be lag free. It has much more features, and you could watch videos on it here: www.gametrailers.com/player/47079.htmlwww.gametrailers.com/player/47081.html

...yeah , and a 360 controller too, but i'll just use that one regardless.
There are many problems with this idea 1. no big franchises 2. to work these games for millions of people would take google size server farms, which i don't think they have 3. a montly service to paly a gsame has worked, but to play a console? c'mon 4. there is already a billion dollar industry based on gaming computers, which will not be swayed by this 5. someone's gotta realise some people just won't buy a game console no matter waht flashy ideas we have

1. Crysis, Prince of Persia and a number of other large titles are already on board. 2. This, I wonder about. What the fuck are they running to drive this kind of service? 3. You're essentially forgoing the console/PC and playing the game directly with this service though. It's not really much different from something like GameFly. 4. This definitely dent the enthusiast computer industry, however it may potentially open up a new market to people with shitty computers. 5. Wii had some flashy ideas, and it sold like hotcakes.
