I got destroyed by it
Also, if any of you know, which was it for this question:
(17:07:19) Mohamdu: yo (17:07:21) Mohamdu: what did you do for the rice question? (17:13:01) Mohamdu: rhythm and I have been trying to figure it out for a while now... (17:20:55) Dan!: You mean the chess one? (17:22:14) Dan!: Well, if so and if you haven't figured it out yet: (17:22:38) Dan!: Unless I'm mistaken, the question wasn't asking for the total sum of rice grains. As such, the final answer should have been 2^64. (17:23:06) Mohamdu: that's stupid though... then it's basically the exact same as the other question (17:23:20) Dan!: Not quite. (17:23:24) Dan!: The first one was double then adding it. (17:23:28) Dan!: This was just doubling it (17:24:40) Mohamdu: wait the first one was adding up his whole allowance 0_0 (17:24:44) Mohamdu: what the fuck (17:26:46) Mohamdu: rhythm said it was the allowance on the day... (17:26:52) Mohamdu: and we both did it for allowance on the day (17:27:11) Dan!: IIRC, the final sentence said "find the amount of money he has on day 30". (17:27:22) Dan!: Not verbatim obviously but I'm quite sure it was 0.01 + 0.02 + 0.04 etc etc

The first question was the accumulated total by day one.
The second question was the number of grains on the 64th square.

You should have stayed for a bit. By about 10:20 I was done... actually uploading it onto the computers took like 10-15 minutes.

It wasn't difficult, just lengthy. I should have stayed as well.

I don't like the way I made it work, but it did work. It was pretty poorly done I think, because I was just trying to write down anything I think would work so I could leave. Round Two was really simple... took like 5-10 minutes after I finished Round 1.

I got everything to work except scoring, which defeated the purpose of the game. Also ironic that I left early 'cause I got kicked out of LeBreton's class anyway for sleeping when I could've just skipped.
I also made the mistake of using a GUI instead of shitting it out with hsa.Console, which would have saved me a fuckload of time.

I liked the way I did it, but some little issue somewhere was causing it to draw a king of spades every time. I spent like 20 minutes looking for it, got pissed off, and decided "lol whatever". The actual card system was pretty fleshed out.

(10 days later but) Instinct my ass Danny you made a car that shit out code and i made a GUI, i learned from you and then you go and fuck up on an exam. And for the rice question its weird cause i had actually made a program to calculate it long before the exam because i wasn't sure, turns out its 2^64 +1 and that integers in java don't hold enough digits, neither do longs. I still don't see the difference between the two questions though, it asked for the amount of allowance which doubled each day which means you add up the amounts till whatever day, and the rice one its the same it doubled each day and asked for the total rice on the 64th day...

The first question was the accumulated total by day one. The second question was the number of grains on the 64th square. Day whatever* In the second question, the number of rice grains on the previous squares are irrelevant. In the case of the first question, the previous days are compounded into the final amount.
