How can you use paper to write notes? And since you're asking what you use to write notes, the only acceptable answers are pencils, pens, etc.

And then the paper option would have to be changed to "paper + writing utensil" or something.

Oh wow, I remember actually putting "paper and a writing utensil" but I guess I removed it for whatever reason, probably while I was trying to reword the question.
