Yeah dude... this board is Chinese, not Japanese. Also I have some basic understanding of Japanese, it's cool how you can tell how Google Translate butchers things once you have some fluency in a second language. Like what you said in literal Japanese: So I'm assuming you said something like:

Sorry man I'm pretty fail at these sort of things
another reason why I wish I can learn a new language To be a true global citizen I must open up my doors and not rely on other sources to help me I'm Ok at french, but that won't take me far
BTW what was this board about any way? ....google translate failed me

rofl.... the Chinese board looked a little empty so I just posted a quote from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms in original Chinese. Also your French is probably vastly superior to mine, I nearly failed Applied French. Learning languages in school is by far the worst place to learn them; I haven't learned anything at all about the English language in class and virtually everything about it from outside sources, likewise for Japanese (although I've never taken classes). French I have taken classes for, although I can assure you that I have gained more proficiency by reading cereal boxes than being in a classroom has ever helped me. I've tried reading French webcomics too along with translated versions to keep me on track, this was again more helpful than a classroom was. If you're looking to learn a new language, Rosetta Stone and iitran are your friends.

I can relate. There's this sinking feeling in my heart whenever my friends start to speak Hindi around me. I've forgotten all the Arabic I used to know as a kid too.

rofl, I've learned to understand my family when they speak hardcore Guyanese Creole. Dat wudda be wen abehdees does talk just like this, dem immigrant pickney dem does nahstand wah allbody does be sayin if dey is talk a so-so allade tyme. Ah so de pickney dem dah stay. I can't even type out how retarded it sounds. While I can typically understand what they are saying, my English tends to be so normal that they can't understand what I'm saying if I talk to them. EDIT: Link fixed
