I like headphones with a wider range than this, the pioneers I have are 5Hz - 30,000Hz, 107 dB/mW also the driver is 50mm.

i was thinking of ars technica ath-m50s but saw the specs were lower

Those frequency response specs are pretty much bullshit without mentioning the amplitude cutoff.

The MDR-7506 actually has a lower and more gradual bass roll off despite the smaller driver, and holds a more flatter response through the presence band, but the HDJ-1000 takes over past 10,000 for a more airy sound. I personally find the MDR-7506 just a slight tad bright for my preferences, so I probably wouldn't like the Pioneers. If you want a 50 mm driver, the MDR-7509HD is the same thing with a larger driver and 107 dB/mW sensitivity.
