Same routine, sans the 5 pages of crap between images.

Nice. 1280x1024 is not correct for a CRT though. Squares are wider than they are tall.

Don't you mean pixels? amirite? (I didn't pay attention to the video in computer engineering, so I can't recall if it's right or not) Quoted for future mishaps: Squares are wider than they are tall. Also, we've gone over this, and I know. I want to get a LCD but I don't have the cash.

The pixels are indeed stretched, but I was referring to a square. Examine the following: For someone who does a lot of shit with Photoshop, this is a large issue. 1280x960 is the proper 4:3 resolution for a CRT. Also, that's a pretty odd pixel. It's more like this on a CRT: And for the hell of it, here's a nice fancy chart of some standard resolutions. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/44/Vector_Video_Standards.pngObserve how 1280x1024 falls under 5:4 while 1280x960 falls under 4:3.

Actually, the 100x100 one looks more like a square on my screen than the 100x107. The 100x107 looks like a vertical rectangle.

What is the model of your CRT?

Some shitty Sceptre Plug'n'Play monitor that's 6 years old. Anything above 1280x1024 doesn't work on it.

Oh cool, Sceptre just happens to be one of those retarded few companies that made 5:4 CRTs.
I don't understand the existence of the 5:4 aspect ratio. 4:3 was the majority standard, but then a bunch of companies met in a boardroom and decided to make their screens slightly more square. Now there's a nice mess of 5:4, 4:3, 16:10 and 16:9 screens.
Why?
