That recording quality and production is fantastic. I debated on getting the AT2020 before settling with the ATR2500—I didn't really think I'd be recording stuff as often to get my money's worth at the time.

It's a session from Fanshawe that I just tracked over. Everything other than myself was recorded in an actual studio with mics that cost more than a month's salary and a mixing console that costs more than most Toronto condos. I wish the playing was tighter, but I picked some pretty shitty session musicians and my piano/bass playing is a mess. In contrast, I picked this bitch up for $139 before tax:  My shitty collection of XLR microphones:  I have three of the Apex clip on mics, along with some other shitty mics that have non-removable TRS cables on them. |
