After 10 years of long, tumultuous development, it's finally arrived. The Devil May Cry of Final Fantasies.
This is the most blatantly homosexual game I've ever played in my life, but I fucking love it. Best Final Fantasy game since the V, VI, VII days, more fun than XII, definitely redeems the shitpile known as XIII.
It's like I really get to live out my lifelong fantasy of being a bishounen prince with a slick convertible and a posse of sexy men living with me. I love twink boy Nocty, I hope there's DLC where you can romance Gladiolus.
Noctis Lucis Caelum is possibly the gayest name of all-time but I literally yelled "NOOCCCCCTTTTTTTTTT" at the screen like a little kid watching Goku go Super Saiyan for the first time during the intro.
You even get a dog who can travel through time!
As much of a twink boy as Noct is, I like his older, manlier Punished Noct look more.
Also I like that they made a dragoon character who's actually sexy.
Also the trailers and commercials for this game were actually really well made.
This one just feels so wrong but it made me laugh. They turned FF into a mainstream Western series.
Fuck man, I honestly had to stare at the title screen for 5 minutes just to fully appreciate the game was actually real. I saw the trailer for this game when George fucking Bush was President. All in all, I think it's a pretty good game. FF is back on the menu.

I genuinely cannot understand the critical reception to this game. I feel like this is the biggest discrepancy between critical reception (a meager 84% on metacritic) compared to popular reception from people I know. I don't know a single player of this game who doesn't love it, 4 people now have told me it's their new favourite in the series.
This is the best Final Fantasy game. You may not know it yet. You may not even know it after the first time you beat it, but it is. The combat system is so good it will take you tens of hours until you fully understand how to exploit all of it. This is the closest thing to a 10/10 the Final Fantasy series has produced. For years I considered VI to be my favourite game in the series (although I've enjoyed many, older and newer). I had to really stop and think in the middle of this game, have I ever had this much genuine fun in a Final Fantasy game? Have I ever been this excited by fights? Have I ever felt more connected with the characters? Have I ever felt this emblazoned to just explore every corner of the world? As much as I love VI, VII, IX, X and XII, this is the game I must hand the crown to. At first I thought I would hate the cast of this game, especially the main quartet. Now I love all these guys and never want them to leave my side. Prompto is the dope, Gladio is the tough guy, Ignis brings the banter and Noctis always saves the day. It's better than Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I never saw Donatello and Leonardo pull a warp strike into blindside link and break something's horn off.
Noctis is already my favourite protagonist in the series. I knew I loved this man the moment I got hit by 9999 damage from Jörmungandr, immediately went into low HP danger mode, and Noctis begins laughing happily. He can warp strike through behemoths and call upon the gods, but he still has time to go fishing. He truly is the One Punch Man of FF protagonists, The One like Neo. Even Terra, Tidus, Cloud and Lightning in their primes couldn't topple King Noct. None of them are as sexy as him either. He's the Prince of pain, and he's got no time to chill. All Hail Noctis Lucis Caelum CXIV, Chosen King of the Fallen Star!
Also god I love the summons in this game. The summons are different in every area too.
As glowingly as I reviewed Persona 5, I am stunned by this game. I honestly expected FFXV to be a pile of garbage, 10 years in the oven and a complete mess. Instead, I have to admit this is a better JRPG than P5, even though it plays entirely differently. It's a better game than Oblivion, Skyrim and their derivatives.
The throne has been reclaimed.
Also, this is one of the best commercials I've ever seen

Even the villains main theme is one of the best in the series, best taken as a composition in two parts.
So many excellent bossfights in this game. currently maxed level, almost every hidden weapon fully upgraded. Still fighting all the secret bosses and going to fly my car to the secret dungeon.
Sometimes the boss is a big ass fish, sometimes the boss is an astral God or a cybernetic demon. My only regret is that after 85 hours eventually I'm going to run out of things to do. Looking forward to the new game plus patch so I can watch Nocty go super saiyan as many times as I want.

they'll probably add him as DLC (lol) along with Kefka, Sephiroth, Kuja and all the other gay villains. although you can listen to all the boss battle music from every game in the series while you're cruising through the hood
