In this thread we discuss the latest masterstroke of divisive vidyakino from our Lord and savior himself, Hideo Kojima. I really hate to be the one to say it, but Mr Kojimjambles has truly outdone himself this time. Stop and imagine for a minute, what if we lived in a world where by far the most courageous, noble and fearless human beings on Earth, were deliverymen? This was the question Kojimbo asked himself; and the answer, was Death Stranding. The ultimate plebfilter game ever created. Within the first 5 minutes I immediately realized I was playing the single most kinographic video game of all time, bar none. Not to mention the Kojima Productions logo itself nearly melted my fucking face off. Suddenly I'm overwhelmed with the urge to strap several ladders to my body, clip a pair of boots to my hip, grow my hair long and my beard wild and start running around carrying random shit on my back, stealing random packages from people and doing absolutely everything to be the greatest porter on planet Earth. In all seriousness, the very careful and methodical gameplay style coupled with the atypical insanity we've come to expect from Kinojima has created an experience that many may find tiresome or stressful, but for someone like me the game is absolute zen. I don't think I've ever related more to any video game character more than Sam Porter Bridges: a boomer full of hardworking, fearless kinetic energy, trapped in a post-apocalyptic society of cowards, pseudo-intellectuals and shut-ins who do not in any kind of honestly know the meaning of a hard day's work; a man who very simply, delivers. I myself feel dissimilar to those around me in this modern, convoluted age, and the idea of a world where a simple minded, boots to the ground logistical worker is the greatest hero mankind could hope for, is one that I'm very much OK with. In a world gone absolutely mad, the sanest man left is a guy who just wants to get shit done. This truly is the 'Joker' of video games, a work of art so bold and absolutely kino from beginning to end, that it leaves the door wide open to debate both the merits, flaws and absolutely profound moments within the work from beginning to end. The supporting cast is also excellent. Troy Baker, Lindsay Wagner, Margaret Qualley, Tommie Earl Jenkins and Mads Mikkelsen especially put on incredible performances, in possibly the first type of performance of its kind, to support the infectious delivery of practically everything that Norman Reedus does as Sam Porter Bridges. Also Hideo put in his good friend and also infamously divisive kinographer, Nicolas Winding Refn in the game. This man created such masterworks of kino such as the Pusher Trilogy, Valhalla Rising, Drive, Only Allah Forgives, The Neon Demon and Too Old to Die Young (which actually featured the favour returned, with Hideo Kojima himself playing a cameo role) Seriously, Nic Refn pulls that pose in EVERY single picture. Also you have to love all the random absolutely ridiculous shit that Kojima puts within his games just to flesh out the world itself. Kind of want this necklace to be honest. Also I'm really digging the Ludens sunglasses and Bridges hat. Almost thinking of buying them. I'll leave here possibly the greatest review by the greatest games journalist of all-time, Tim Rogers All in all whether you love this game or hate it, I think everyone should appreciate that a AAA produced title like this can even exist and be produced at all. People will be discussing and debating this game for decades, and to me that solidly places it as a true work of art instantly. The gameplay is actually fun and different from every other game, delivering things and building around the world itself becomes strangely addictive and cathartic. I can't wait to make it to the end of this wild ride. Thank you Mr. Kojima, you make good vidya.

Yeah, at this point I can safely say that Death Stranding is my personal game of the year, and even more than that it's my personal game of the decade. I mean, I knew I'd probably like the game, I just didn't expect to like it THIS much. Nothing like this has ever been achieved in video games. The incredibly hopeful storyline, the excellent performances from the actors across the board, the interweaved gameplay mechanics, the social strand system, the feeling of accomplishment from completing a mission when everything was against you. I love this game. I can't stop playing this game. I'm addicted. I relate to the MULEs in this game who want to rob people and deliver shit for fun, because I want to rob the MULEs an deliver their shit, for fun. I'm so goddamn glad Kojima made this game even knowing that the vast majority of mankind isn't mentally ready for it. I finally understand the concept of Homo Ludens being the evolution of mankind from Homo Sapiens. Everything in this game makes sense. The most fun I've had playing a game in years. This game is not kino, it is more than that. This, is Absolute Ludo of the highest caliber. God bless Hideo Kojima. I think Sam Porter Bridges might be my favourite video game character ever. Alright, time to get stranded.

This was honestly pretty kino. Norman Reedus and Tommie Earl Jenkins themselves were tweeting it out.

I would unironically love a Bridges suit to lug fucktons of road cases up a flight of stairs or something in a shitty venue.

Ever since the game came out I've been obsessed with getting a Death Stranding tier jacket at the very least, a full on jumpsuit ideally. I was looking at quite a few North Face and Columbia branded jackets that basically look like you could conceivably climb Mount Everest twice while wearing them. Obviously you buy a Level 3 Long Range, I mean, Tesla Trimotor Cybertruck and then laser engrave the Bridges logo on the side of it, but that much went without saying. Pretty sure Kojimbo will put the Cybertruck as the goto vehicle in his next horror game. Sadly this is not available for sale and was custom made just so Hideo could cosplay as his own character. I fucking love the mechanical hood with the visor attached. All of these jackets have some fairly Stranded vibes, but I do with they had some harnesses, straps and a goddamn boot clip attached. I guess I'll just have to buy a GoRuck GR1 as well and attached an exterior battery as well as a few pouches for grenades made out of my own blood and shit. Ok I wasn't serious about that last part, but everything else I was. The thing is it might sound like I'm joking, but I'm really not. I've decided to go full nomadic explorer, the old Mohamdu hair is coming back, I'm gonna actually buy a Cybertruck (eventually), and I will buy a Stranding tier jacket and a GoRuck GR1 with a canteen, a taser gun and a flashlight and some other shit. My only problem now is financing all of these things when I also want to build a beastly ass pc for all the games coming out next year. If only you could rob Mules in real life.

Apparently that autistic eurasian girl is model Mala Morgan who's friends with Kojima. Also I find it funny that you're still on chapter 3, it seems a good half of the playerbase never make it past this chapter. In fact, if you look at the completion rates for the trophies in this game, you'll find that only 20% of players on PSN actually completed the last chapter, even though it's been 5 weeks since the game dropped. Seems like this is the sort of game most people just give up and never complete. "It's time to repatriate, Norman-sanI like how in this image Kojima is trying to be cool like Reedus and Mikkelsen by pretending to smoke, when in reality he just looks like a child imitating adults.

Lol to be fair I've spent like 10 hours in this chapter just trying to max my connection level with all the settlements. I've been pretty addicted to the game, playing like 1-2 hours every day after work
