So I've actually decided to set a goal for myself that I actually do want to write a dystopian science fiction novel over the next year or two. Much of the influence for this work comes from Anthony Burgess' "The Wanting Seed". Burgess was the author of Clockwork Orange and some other great novels. I think in order to do it I will have to reread the Wanting Seed. Burgess was actually a genius in exploring the same kinds of concepts I want to, and he did it way back in the 60s. I will be using this thread as something of a foolscap for writing down relevant research to eventually making my novel.
One of the most important concepts of the novel was this concept of the world being overpopulated, to the point where heterosexuality and childbirth is frowned upon, most figures in power including the police are all gay. Basically the globohomo Georgia Guidestone people were right and we should have listened to them in this novel.
My novel will be about several things: the nature of beauty and attraction, the nature of human sexuality and whether ugly or unattractive people are actually necessary to ensuring a productive society. Basically it will be about a perfect society where there are no ugly or unattractive people through years of genetic modification, everyone is good looking and everyone is bi. Eventually everyone just spends all day fucking each other and nothing ever gets done, society itself collapses and the world becomes worse than it was before. Essentially a repudiation of a supposedly ideal world.
Anyways, all my research for my novel will likely be stored in this thread.
