So I bought one of those smart scales. This has confirmed several things to me, I'm a very heavy person for my size but most of this comes from my above average muscle mass. Also as I've always suspected apparently my base metabolic rate is a few hundred calories higher than most people's. Not skinny Japanese guy who wins hotdog eating contest tier, but above average. My face is all shiny, I know. Don't ask. But this is how I look now. I'm going to track my weight over the next few months and try to generally increase muscle mass and decrease body fat through weight training and cardio. It's actually really cool being able to see such specific measurements, although I'm sure they're not entirely accurate. Still, I know I have more muscle mass than most guys and a higher metabolic rate so it was nice to actually have that measurably confirmed. I'm gonna aim for a somewhat reasonable 14% body fat while maintaining weight within the 190lbs to 200lbs range.

So I hit that dirty bulk. Had an extremely busy last two months. About to become a homeowner among other things. Did not get as much time to invest into fitness as I would have liked. So I gained 4.2lbs of muscle, but I also increased my body fat 0.8%. Need to hit some more cardio and actually get that percentage down while maintaining the same overall body mass.

If you weigh less than 220lbs, watch your tone when speaking to me.Alright, I never actually thought I would manage to make it to be 240+ lbs in my life. It's been almost exactly 1 year since the last post, and basically if this thing is to be believed I gained 20 lbs and 11lbs of it was just muscle. Basically I pulled that hard dirty bulk. I know I said cardio is the gainsbliteration and all that jazz but jesus christ, I think it's time to finally start doing cardio again. I've gained so much muscle I'm now significantly stronger than the average guy. I went straight for that Jon Jones build, just eat and lift and eat and lift for several years. Might finally be time to start slimming down because realistically I don't actually want to be 250lbs, it's just too much bulk for a 5'9" frame. So I guess this now marks my return to learning how to run and do other cardio exercises. Maybe in a year I'll have managed to slim down some while maintaining all the muscle I built.
