Honestly before you even think about this post, just remember what the world was like in December 2020. Crypto mining on GPUs created a global shortage; most people could not get their hands on a 20 series card, let alone a 30 series card. Computer parts in general were scarce and expensive. The overwhelming majority of people did not have a PS5 or the new Xboxes (which had only dropped a month earlier) because of shortages and scalpers. Most people owned a single gaming platform: a PS4 or an Xbox, both of which use HDDs instead of NVMes. In the most basic sense, most people did not have a machine with the graphical output ability or the disk reading speeds to actually run the first next-gen game, Cyberpunk 2077, properly. Personally, I did since I blew my load on a 3090 and Kinoberus. This is why I had such a great fucking time playing Cyberpunk during those first few months while consoletards (read: the mouthbreathing masses) kept bitching about the game.
Cyberpunk was literally always incredible. Yeah the police and NPC AI was ass and the skill trees are way better now. Other than that, not much has changed. There's just a difference in mentality between nu-gamers and boomers such as yours truly. When we were kids playing Oblivion, we just laughed at all the glitches and found it funny. It didn't ruin the experience of a classic and at the time, groundbreaking game. The exact same is true of Cyberpunk and always has been.
I will say though that being able to basically play as Doomslayer in Night City is hilarious. The new skill trees with infinite air dashes paired with double jumps in Dogtown is just a blast. You didn't need double jump before. You practically need it to navigate Dogtown easily. 10/10 game just got bumped up to 11/10, Idris brought a heavy presence to the game.
God I can't fucking wait to build a new PC with a 5090 just for the sole purpose of replaying Cyberpunk.
