I'll need the bus stop location if we are going to meet up there sometime after school.

Alright, there remains less than a week until Anime North. Being the arrogant person I am, I'll be taking charge and leadership for the duration of the weekend. Here's a rundown of things you need to know. 1. Essential MaterialsThe volunteer waiver sheet - Unless you decide to change your mind and just attend, bring a filled and signed volunteer sheet with you. Remember that Canadian law requires your parents to sign it off, so get it done. The PDSB Community Service Sheet - Seeing as the main point behind the whole thing is to score some faggot community service hours, it would make sense to grab one of these. They can be picked up in the guidance office. Go there during your lunch, spare, before or after school. The pre-registration confirmation form - If you pre-registered, bring a printed copy of the confirmation email you received, or the confirmation document you received in the mail. If you don't, the whole point of pre-registering becomes moot, and you'll have to pay $55 all over again. Identification - It's always good to have, so bring your student card or some other valid form of ID. $55 for registration - If you did not pre-register, you're going to have to do it at the convention itself. The registration desk will be located in the Toronto Congress Centre, just inside the main entrance doors of hall D. $10.20 minimum for transportation - The route of choice will be a GO bus. Details follow below. More money - It's a convention, for Christ's sake. 2. Transportation To and From the ConventionWe will be taking the Brampton Local, Hwy 27, & Hwy 427 GO Bus Service eastbound to York Mills, getting off at Dixon @ Martin Grove. From there, it's a short half-kilometer walk to the convention. The same bus will be taken westbound to return to Brampton. The bare minimum is $10.20 for two tickets to go both ways. I recommend bringing more in the case crash space fails or something. Worst case scenario, expect to spend $30.60 on GO Transit. Friday, after school (day 1), rendezvous in the music hall. From there, we will take Brampton Transit 52 northbound to the GO bus terminal. Brampton Transit is $2.75 per fare (I'll probably be able to front tickets though). 3. Registration Process at the ConventionFor those who have pre-registered, presenting your confirmation form will reward you with your convention badge. If you did not pre-register, you will need to purchase a badge at the registration desk. Either way, from there we will need to walk from the TCC to the Doubletree hotel to sign up at the volunteer desk. After presenting the volunteer forms, your badge will be swapped for a volunteer badge. Then the magic begins. Please read carefully through these instructions and point out any mistakes I may have made. I would prefer not to get lost in Etobicoke. Also, there is apparently some faggot procedure involved behind registering for Special Operations, which grants additional privileges over volunteers. Any known details about this would be appreciated.

Bring some form of identification with you as well, in case they need to check it.
So, Friday our departure time will be around 6pm. If we bus back, what shall our departure times be on Saturday and Sunday? It will have to be rather early if we plan on squeezing 40 hours of community service in only 3 days.
Also, my Mother said she'd be able to drive me to the con and back if the crash space doesn't work out, though I don't know if she'll be generous enough to let you and Michael carpool, rofl.
If I don't end up taking the bus with you guys, I'll most likely get a ride though I have no idea how the hell I'll be able to meet up with you, lol.

Uh, it's better if you skip school Friday and attend instead.
Also, Tyler, you absorb at being leader outside of XF.

We will see about that.
And yeah, I might just skip school, seeing as Friday will probably be another worthless school day.
The post has also been modified to reflect ID.

That in mind, if we intend to simply skip school, should we still rendezvous in the music room? I am assuming the one near the Tech, Auto, and Drama classrooms.

The first post has been updated with the latest information. In particular, sections 1 and 2 have been revised. $30.60 for transportation or accommodation - The route of choice will be a GO bus. Crash space carries a $10 fee, so whether you take the bus or the hotel, you're going to end up spending more than $30 unless you can score a ride. It will need to be quickly decided as to whether it is worth going to school on Friday or proceeding directly to the convention. Skipping school would be a nice advantage in terms of volunteer positions, hours and crash space availability. If it is agreed upon to ditch the PDSB's failure of an education system, rendezvous at the downtown Brampton bus terminal at 9 AM or so. From there, the bus we want comes at hour intervals (the other half-hour bus skips the Dixon @ Martin Grove stop). If we attend school on Friday (day 1), rendezvous in the music hall after school. From there, we will take Brampton Transit 52 northbound to the GO bus terminal. Brampton Transit is $2.75 per fare (I'll probably be able to front tickets though).

Ok, I have the following things planned out to bring, tell me if any of it seems unnecessary, academically challenged, or if I should bring something else. I understand I'll have to keep this on me literally the entire time I am at the con, and that we are not allowed to leave any of our possessions in the 'crash space'. - A set of pajamas (sweatpants, shirt, underwear) - A spare sweater - toothbrush (so that I can clean my teeth in the one hour between 0900h waking and the 1000h when we must all leave the 'crash space'; I pray to God that they offer us showers and towels...) - comb (my hair is very easy to mess up) - glasses case + cloth to clean it with (they become dirty frequently) - deodourant - medication - cell phone (parents are forcing me to do this) - $200 CAD - Student ID, bus tickets - Volunteer Sign-up Sheet, Waiver, PTSB Volunteer Form - a backpack to carry it all in (weighing less than 10lbs in total) - Nintendo DS (For the Tetris Wars obviously) - writing utensils - keys to house /w USB (in backpack) - the clothes on my body (glasses, shirt, pants, underwear, sandals) - Stephen King's Everything's Eventual (I need a book with me whenever I leave the house >.>) I am hoping all of this stuff is sufficient and efficient. I would prefer that we all skip school on Friday explaining to our teachers what our intentions are, mostly because I would greatly prefer that we had as much time available to earn hours, crash space, and ensure our place as volunteers. I am assuming we are going with either Patrick's mother or the Brampton Transit at 0900h in the morning, as no one in my family could possibly drop us off.

Don't explain you are skipping for Anime North. I really doubt they would tolerate truancy even to let you get some community hours that day.
Just call in sick, that's what I did. No questions, no problems.
