6. Saving Starting in 6 months, Lily will deposit $1000 into an account every March 1st and September 1st for 10 years. How much will she have at the time of the last payment if interest is 5.5% per annum, compounded semi-annually?
Answer: 1000 [(1+0.055/2)^20-1] / 0.055/2 = $26,197.40
She sure has cash.

I find it funny that today we solved a problem involving Mikhail's regular annuity. It isn't very often you hear such a Russian name being used, but our math homework writers certainly try to keep a wide demographic of names available.
