It's hard to see people beyond a certain distance when you're playing at 640x480 with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Despite the horrendous number of deaths, it actually ran quite smoothly. I was impressed. rthdribl runs twice as fast as it did with the FX 5200, and actually renders properly with its shader model 3 support. Awesome. Cover Flow now runs at a pace similar to my iPod touch. I actually prefer the 20 fps over the silky smooth movement of the 6800 GS. It feels more dramatic and reminds me of film. It runs pretty awful in fullscreen, but I never use it in fullscreen for anything other than screenshots or impressing people, so it's no loss.

It's got DVI. I can't tolerate VGA with an LCD. VGA is best used with a CRT monitor.

As a nice little reference, here's what rhthdribl looks like on the FX 5200: Shader model 2 is pretty cool.

Yeah... I remember those days. A really fast card, but looking like that.

I'm pretty sure that X800 was measurably faster than my 6800 GS. It had some pretty awesome rendering issues though.
