For those of you who may be wondering, here is an explanation of how the tournament will run.
Nominations (see this post for details) will run until July 29, at which point nomination scores will be calculated. The users will then be listed in order of points, and the top 64 will make it to the tournament round.
The tournament will then have five rounds of polls. See the chart below for more information.
Rounds one through three will have four users per battle, and the two with the most votes will move on the the next round. polls will run for one week, and if two winners are not chosen by that time, a tie breaker poll will run until winners are chosen. Starting with the fourth round (top 8), users will face each other in one on one head-to-head polls. The two losers from the final four will face for third place, and then the two winners will face for first place in the finals.
First round numbers on the chart show placement from the nomination round. 1s and 2s represent first and second places from the previous poll. W and L refer to winner and loser from the one on one polls.
Nomination score placements in the first round are chosen in such a way that the top users don't end up facing each other early on, resulting in a lame final round.
