First of all I'd like to inquire as to what is meant exactly by Recategorization.
Secondly, I don't see a reason to completely wipe the Alternative Language Boards, perhaps just consolidate them into one board or something along those lines? The basic premise is at least interesting.
Thirdly, BotC should perhaps be wiped rather than removed? We might want to do it again at some point in the future?
That's all I have to comment on at the moment.

Recategorization would mean they will be moved to a more visible spot.
I'm personally not sure whether to merge or remove the Alternative Language Boards.
Battle of the Composers could be kept if someone is willing to run it.

I think merging the Alternate Language boards is messy and wouldn't work well. They weren't really used in the first place, so they're pretty pointless. If you want to talk in another language make a thread in Social General or something (like "The Official German Thread" or whatever).
Battle of the Composers should still be deleted and remade even if someone's restarting it, since it's a new competition.

The thing with the ALB is that not enough current members speak each individual language to warrant it being there. I would say you'd need at least 2-3 per language to justify its existence... What I would suggest instead of having all of them separately is just having ONE Alternate Language Board which serves the function of all of the previous ones. Would that be too chaotic?
And I will gladly run the BotC board. I'd be interested in doing a more comprehensive competition, where people actually know the music of each composer a little bit more intimately than in the past. People will actually have to vote and read though.

As I said, I think having just a thread for your particular language is better than keeping a whole board for all alternate languages, since that will only end up having like three posts in it.

It'll pick up eventually. it's like throwing away clothes that are slightly too big for you when you're 10 years old. |
