I'd take UT04 over CS/CS:S or fuckingpieceofshitHalo anyday.
CS/CS:S only pits you against other people in TDM matches that are boring as fuck, because goddamn, everybody loves running around with an M4 looking for that fucking sniper that's camping in a wall or something. Gotta love 'em hackers.
Halo just pisses me off because of the goddamn control schemes which absorb more cock than Patrick.
I like UT more than any of the above listed games (save TF2 since I haven't tried it) as its name implies - its unreal. God, I'm tired of seeing all the same goddamn weapons (realism omg I don't give a fuck).
Fuck, I want something that at the least hasn't been recycled through game after game. I could give less of a damn about realism. UT offers different game venues to try out as well, rather than just the same TDM/CTF bullshit I tired of years ago.

as its name implies - its unreal. What an understatement. I like UT more than any of the above listed games (save TF2 since I haven't tried it) as its name implies - its unreal. This is where the great holy game otherwise known as Team Fortress 2 becomes a shining beacon. Pretty much everything from historic wars to modern wars to retarded future wars have been done. Team Fortress 2 enters a great-looking comic book world with the classic RED vs. BLU. However, the uniqueness of each class and their specific perks, combined with the beautiful presentation (burning other players is just hilarious) makes it a great experience to behold. Valve has really put the effort in to create something great with Team Fortress 2, along with the rest of The Orange Box. I placed Call of Duty 4 level with Team Fortress 2 for different reasons. Besides being a fierce single-player and multi-player experience, it boasts a wide variety of customization for both the server and yourself. The ranking system is very well thought out, giving those dedicated to the game additional perks to utilize without handicapping the the lower-ranked players. The ranking system provides an overall goal to strive for, besides the main objectives in the server, which is a nice draw. The Battlefield series always has been, and more or less still is, the benchmark for rock, paper, scissors sandbox warfare. The novelty of fighting across several kilometres of land and sea takes a good while to die off. With a good team of people and a competent commander, rare as it is, Battlefield 2 can be a very fun game. Counter-Strike is more of a competition tool than anything else. However, with tens of thousands of servers, there must be something entertaining about it. Halo on the PC is ironically much better than it is on the Xbox, but it's still nothing spectacular. Also, This thread derailed pretty fucking hard, so here's a picture of a demoman jumping like a retard while on fire.

You can still post images, as long as the URL doesn't contain anything that's censored.

I gave it another chance, seeing as demo will tend to absorb. However, the full game was no better. The demo was actually better because it was quicker to uninstall. I am never touching an Unreal Tournament game ever again. TF2 = CoD4 > UT04 Wait a minute... Why the fuck are you comparing TF2 and CoD4 with UT04, you asshole? Those are both '07 game. The source engine also absorbs. Jesus Christ, it's terrible. I just got portal from Danny and holy shit, I've not seen such poorly programmed code since Two Worlds. For what portal is, it should not run the way it does. Instead of drawing two maps at the same time, they should have come up with a simpler alternative. CoD4 is still fucking great though. CoD2, as old as it is still has awesome graphics and intense gameplay.

I could compare them to UT3, but from a gameplay perspective, it's still the same piece of shit it always was. The Orange Box and CoD4 have both won and been nominated for various awards, but I don't remember ever seeing UT3.
Also, what simpler method could there possibly be for rendering portals in Source? Currently, it rerenders the map from the correct perspective, culling anything that is not seen. Perhaps they could have used a texture snapshot of the other area, but then that would look like total shit. Valve opted for quality.
Anyways, I would post some sort of screenshot to... rerail this thread, but I don't have any on my iPod touch, lelz.

Commentary in Portal explains why they decided to render two instances through the portal at once. Beat it through, then play it with commentary. Also, here is a screenshot of P atrick not absorbing cock.

Oh yeah, I completely forgot about the commentary. I want to play through Portal again anyways, so I might as well turn that on.
Also, this looks shopped. I can tell from some of the pixels and from seeing quite a few shops in my time.

Oblivion is fucking huge, christ.
How long did it take to make this game?

Long. I like how they have a whole wiki dedicated to this game. There're a whole bunch of religions, beliefs and backgrounds that have been created in this game. It's fucking immense. That guy who directed this game is a fucking genius. Too bad the actual storyline is very short. All the sidequests make up for it though. Why isn't it an MMORPG? Fuck. lolwhat
