Post all the phones you ever had. Started with this brick: I thought it was the coolest shit back then with its retractable antenna. I only used it in elementary school to phone home. After that I was phoneless until Fanshawe when I picked up this thing: The bottom row of keys were offset to the left compared to the standard keyboard layout which was a pissoff, but once I got used to this I was able to fly on that thing. I still miss having a physical keyboard, even though the phone's software was pretty garbage and the 2MP camera took mostly miserable pictures and worthless video. Once I started working I joined the smartphone world with this thing: This phone combined with WIND's unlimited data transformed my bus commute. I was able to amalgamate the functionality of the iPod touch I was carrying with phone service and better software into a single based device with internet anywhere I want. Battery was good enough to get through a warehouse day, but by the time I started hitting the road it had gone to shit and the poor single core CPU was starting to struggle pretty badly with newer versions of Android and apps. Eventually Google had a fire sale on this bitch so I picked one up: I've probably held onto this phone the longest out of any of them. I'd still be using it if the charging circuit didn't shit out on me. It was plenty fast, had a decent enough screen, and did whatever I asked of it. The camera kinda absorbed dick but I didn't care that much. The battery was also going to shit over years of use but it would have been relatively easy to replace if it were still working. No matter, as WIND gave me this beast for free: This thing is basically a scaled down Nexus 6 with some Motorola additions. It's been a fantastic phone since I got it. The screen is amazing, the notification system is useful as fuck, the camera lens is good enough to actually produce DoF effects and it records 4K video, and the speaker is front facing and blows any other single speaker phone out of the water. Like the Nexus 4, I'll use this phone until it absolutely shits the bed.

Nokia 3310. Technically my first cellphone ever even though it had no cellular data and I couldn't use it for phone calls. I literally only used it as an alarm clock back in high school and to play snake and that one side scrolling shooting game. LG banter. Got this for before starting college since I needed a cellphone (I didn't really need one back in high school). This thing had legendary battery life coupled with the fact that I only really used my phone for texting. I could go almost 2 weeks at a time without charging it at its prime. Texting on this thing was nice, I also miss having a tactile keyboard. The 2MP camera was jackshit and there wasn't anything else I could do with this phone other than text and call. Using any sort of data on this thing was absolutely impossible because of its shitty internet browser. Nokia Lumia 520. I decided to be a hipster faggot and try a Windows Phone once I hopped onto the smartphone train, and surprisingly I'm not really disappointed with it. There are absolutely no fucking apps for this thing, but I only use my phone for texting, calling, and browsing on occasion. The battery life on this thing can't match my legendary LG Banter, but on average I go 4 to 6 days before having to charge it—this is only because I don't really use my phone. The camera is shitty for indoor photography and anywhere with low lighting, but I very seldom take photos.

Fuck, I forgot how awesome my Samsung Vice battery was as well.I could easily go a week without charging using it for calls, text and music daily. Once I got the iPod touch for music the thing would go halfway through the next week as well. By comparison, none of my smartphones have been able to make it past a day.

pcs are old and boring, who types with a keyboard anymore? what the heck is a "mousepad" anyways, is that where rodent bachelors live? are the cameras the spiders use called "webcams"? meanwhile modern phones are like tiny supercomputers with 16 megapixel cameras connected to the LTE cloud that can do basically everything. from calling an uber when you're drunk in the middle of nowhere, gpsing directions to the nearest McD's, tweeting your thoughts and playing SpaceChem on the toilet, sending pictures of your genitals to strangers, hacking a wifi connected vending machine remotely, there's basically nothing you can't do with a modern smartphone. I have a galaxy s5 with cyangenmod 13 (android 6.0.1) running on it, got it encased in an otterbox. also this phone is blacklisted cause i got it used for cheap; whoever sold it ripped me off, but it's ok cause I got it hacked with some chinese imei. so basically every aspect of my phone is bootleg as fuck. it runs really fast though, which is nice. you guys should see if cm13 can be flashed onto your phones if you're running android, seemingly the mobile providers aren't planning on upgrading their stock firmwares to 6.0 anytime soon. edit: yeah i didn't know there was another thread L O L

Some shitty shots of my last three phones. I'm pretty sure I have that MicroTAC somewhere too, I'll find it later.

coolio
i'm not sure if i should wait for the s8 or just upgrade when the s7 comes out. the s5 is pretty solid, it's nice because with android 6.0 you can put in an sd card and make it an emulated extension of your phones normal memory. so pretty much my phone thinks it has 144GB of storage

My only complaint about the Moto X and Nexus phones in general is the lack of an SD slot. With Marshmallow it looks like they're finally properly embracing expandable storage, so I'm hoping that future phones might finally have a slot.

I was pretty late to the whole cellphone game, but my first phone was the iPhone 3GS. It was probably the best phone for its time, because I remember a lot of phones trying to keep up with it but failing. A year or two later, the headphone jack broke and the "retina display" as Steve Jerbs likes to call it was a major upgrade to the crappy screens that were out at the time so I purchased the iPhone 4. Little did I know, the iPhone 4 was to be my most regretful purchase ever. I was locked into a three-year contract that the life of the phone just would not allow me to haul. After a year of using this phone, I grew agitated with the amount of times I had to restore the damn thing just to be able to use it properly or even perform updates. "Error: unable to perform update" was the anthem to this grueling experience. I hated having to sync with iTunes every time I wanted to add a song, I hated the transition animations and delays which slowed the use of the device down, and I hated the lack of options to cater to any of my needs. I was surrounded by people who sported phones with expandable storage, bigger screens, and updates that actually made the phone faster. For me, it literally took 20 seconds for me to go from the music player to the internet browser. It was just so god damn slow, and I could swear they were doing it on purpose to make us want to buy the "faster" iPhone. I was sick of the conspiracies so I started a new 3 year contract (only 2 years into my previous one) with the S3. I had this phone for about 4 years, and it was great. It did everything I wanted a phone to do (the Samsung software was fucking trash so I rooted it and put a custom ROM on there) Unfortunately, the processor after 4 years was getting dated, and the software was becoming super buggy because I couldn't flash a new ROM onto it anymore. I was too lazy to fix the problem so I had the exact same software running on it from February 2013 to November 2015. It was time for a change. So I now have the Galaxy Note 4. The reason for this purchase was that I wanted a big screen, and it's the last decent phone with expandable storage. I have a 128 GB SD card in this baby, so that should keep me running for a while. I actually had the Blackberry Priv for a few days but it was a fucking AWFUL PIECE OF SHIT THAT I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYBODY. Seriously, it was like stepping back in time and using a prehistoric piece of shit for a phone. Don't get a Priv.

I'm glad other phone makers have caught up to and arguably surpassed Apple in terms of hardware and build quality. That iPhone 4 you had was such a shit case but the hardware was so much better than the cheap plastic Android shit everyone else was pumping out at the time.
