We just have one office in this building. It's a new building though, so it's still being worked on. The other floors aren't even finished yet. Occasionally there's been fire alarm testing or construction stuff going on.

i got a part time job at ikea now
man, they really want you to see the WHOLE store before you can actually exit the store. it's really designed like a maze. apparently they want me to be "the gatekeeper" who inspects all the freights as their coming in and leaving. that or i might get back to forklifting at this place.
maybe i'll take pictures some time. the store is actually quite posh, we even have a gym and an employee restaurant on top of the restaurant and cafe in the shop.

All of my coworkers were either a bunch of burnout stoners, or high schoolers like me. Considering it was my first job, I did get a lot of customer service experience there, and it was fun having to work really fast to kill a lineup of people. I found the job to be incredibly corporate, and strict. Camera's everywhere, lots of rules, and yet, I still found plenty of time to dick around and jam out with my coworkers. I liked it but after two years, I was growing incredibly cynical about the job, so I quit.

yeah i don't expect to stay here longer than 2 years myself lol. but i like the fact that they're offering me flexible hours around my college schedule and seem to have a specialized job for me.
i doubt i'll spend much time at all working with customers lol

So it's almost been 90 days since I got laid off and my boss from P3 sent me an email today saying that he wants me back to work "in the near future." Going in mid next week after office hours to discuss what the circumstances are with him. I've got a good feeling that there's some sort of catch to bringing me back (part-time position, contract work, wage cut, etc.), but I guess we'll see what happens.
In the meanwhile, I've been applying for job postings and shit since I got back from Norge. Went to an interview last week at a sketchy sign making place run by brown dudes, but haven't heard from them since. Funny enough, this sign place literally called me less than 10 minutes after I sent in my application—desperate much?

So, had a chat with my boss from P3 and basically he wants me back as a full-time employee. The return date to work is expected to be at the end of the month/beginning of March. The catch to it is that I'd be working full-time for a trial period of about a month, since business isn't quite back up to his standards—if business doesn't pick up as planned, I'll have to be a part-time employee instead. For compensation and a means to secure my return to work, he's offering me a higher hourly wage, which is a significant increase from what I was making before being laid-off. So yeah, I'm still giving this some thought, but I'm likely to accept his offer for the time being and see how things go.
In other news, got another interview scheduled for this Friday at some packaging production plant. This is a prospective employer as well since it's a fairly decent sized firm (30+ employees) with potential for more opportunities.
